Oversized Down Comforter: How to Choose the Best Larger-than-Standard Comforter

An oversized down comforter can be found in both queen and king sizes that are larger than the average queen or king sized comforter. Generally, an oversized queen down comforter measures
90 X 94 inches as compared to the standard queen size that is 86 X 86 inches.
A king oversized comforter is generally 108 X 94 inches and is larger than the standard king which measures 104 X 86 inches. There are even larger kings sizes that measure as much as 110 X 110 and the largest down comforter that measures a huge 120 X 120 inches.
Oversized down comforters allow for up to 8 inches extra to the length and up to 2 inches extra to the side drop to provide for as much coverage as you want. - Dimensions - Be sure to determine how much drop on all sides that you prefer when you are looking for the best down comforter for your bed. For instance, it you choose a down comforter with over 700+ fill power, you can be assured of a high quality accessory. Between 500+ and 700+ fill power is generally a good quality down fill power that can provide warmth, yet not too heavy for user.
- Quality - The best quality for down fill usually is white goose down that comes from both Hungary and Poland. This type of fill is excellent for normalizing body temperatures while you sleep and they are extremely durable. It also is often used in washable down comforters because of its resilience and durability.
- Baffling - Be sure to choose baffling that is sewn in a squares throughout the down comforter to insure that the fill does not slip and bunch over time. The box baffling is commonly used for better quality down comforters and helps to provide durability as well as evenly distribute the material for temperature control.
